Privacy policy
Last updated 25 September 2026
This policy explains what Lineal ("Lineal", "we", "us") collects when you use the website at line.al and the application at app.line.al (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have. Lineal is operated by [legal entity or "Elton Gjata, sole trader"], [address / country]. Contact: hello@line.al.
What we collect
Account information
Sign-in is provided by Clerk. When you create an account with Google, Microsoft, Autodesk or an email address, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a unique identifier from the provider. We do not receive your password for those providers. Organisations you create or join, and your role in them, are also stored.
Content you put in the Service
PDFs you upload to a cloud project, the markups, measurements and comments you make on them, and drawing sets and versions you create. Markups record who made them and when. Files you open locally without adding them to a project are kept in your browser's storage only and are not sent to us.
Autodesk data
If you connect an Autodesk account, we store the OAuth tokens needed to access Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 on your behalf, encrypted at rest. When you attach a model, we copy its published sheets (PDF) and element metadata into your project. We access only the hubs, projects and files you choose, and only through Autodesk's APIs. You can disconnect at any time from the app, which deletes the stored tokens.
Waitlist
Joining the waitlist stores your email address with Clerk so we can send you an invitation.
Technical data
Our servers log request metadata (IP address, user agent, URL, timing) for security and debugging, retained for [30] days. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites. The application stores a session token and preferences (such as theme) in your browser.
How we use it
- To provide the Service: store your projects, show sheets, sync markups between collaborators, and sync from Autodesk.
- To keep the Service secure: authenticate you, enforce project access, detect abuse.
- To communicate: invitations, service notices and replies to your messages. We do not send marketing email without consent.
- To improve the Service, using aggregate usage data.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use your drawings, markups or Autodesk data to train models or for advertising.
Who can see your content
Content in a project is visible to the project's members: members of the organisation that owns it, people invited by email, and, for projects bound to an Autodesk project, anyone who can access that Autodesk project. Project owners control this. Lineal staff access customer content only to operate the Service or when you ask for support.
Where it is stored and who processes it
We use these processors to run the Service:
- Cloudflare — hosting, storage (files, databases, realtime rooms) and analytics.
- Clerk — accounts, sign-in, organisations and the waitlist.
- Autodesk — only when you connect an Autodesk account, under Autodesk's own terms.
Data may be processed in [the United States / the EU] and other countries where these providers operate. [Add the legal basis and transfer mechanism if you serve EU/UK users.]
Retention and deletion
Your content stays until you delete it or your account. Deleting a document removes its file, markups and version history; deleting a project removes everything in it. Deleting your account removes your account data and any projects only you own. Backups are purged within [30] days. Server logs are kept for [30] days.
Your rights
You can access, export (flattened PDF and CSV) and delete your content from within the app at any time. To exercise other rights under applicable law, such as correction, portability or objection, email hello@line.al. We respond within 30 days.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Autodesk tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to projects is checked on every request and on every realtime connection. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you without undue delay.
Children
The Service is for professional use and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. For material changes we will notify account holders by email.
